QPT Mechanical designed, installed and commissioned the Direct Liquid Cooling system/critical cooling plant to a Brisbane data centre – the technology behind today’s high-density and AI compute (GPU). Working inside a live, mission-critical facility, QPT installed four Stulz CyberCool Datachillers (~65 kW each, around 260 kW total), matched Beijer Ref air-cooled condensers and two Stulz CRAC units.
The team installed sub-floor and external chilled water & refrigeration pipework systems, providing secondary chilled water to the CDU’s on-board the GPU racks that deliver direct-to-chip cooling on a 17°C / 29°C loop. A primary chilled-water system in Aquatherm pipe, with seismic restraint, anti-vibration mounts, Armaflex insulation, a 750 L stainless-steel buffer tank and Landis PICV mixing valves, ties the plant together.
QPT completed water treatment, balancing and full commissioning with RACA-certified agents – fine-tuning under live rack load – and handed over a complete O&M manual with as-built drawings, ITPs and Certificates of Compliance.
