QPT designs chilled water distribution systems based on the building’s cooling load, flow rate requirements, pipe sizing, and the characteristics of the central chiller plant. Design includes hydraulic modelling, pipe sizing calculations, pump selection, and controls strategy.

For chilled water piping in Brisbane commercial projects, QPT installs carbon steel, copper, and pre-insulated pipework from central plant through to terminal connection points — including all fittings, isolation valves, balancing valves, pressure test points, and air vents.
Chilled water pipework requires closed-cell foam or fibreglass insulation with vapour barrier to prevent condensation and heat gain. QPT installs insulation systems appropriate for the pipe size, operating temperature, and location of each section.

Primary and secondary chilled water pump sets, including variable speed drives for variable flow systems, are installed and commissioned as part of the full chilled water scope.

Chilled water systems are monitored and controlled through the building management system. QPT manages BMS integration including AHU chilled water control valves, flow temperature sensors, pressure differential transmitters, and actuator commissioning for Brisbane commercial building projects.
