What is pipe freezing?
Nitrogen pipe freezing in Brisbane uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the water or fluid within a pipe section and create a solid ice plug. The ice plug acts as a temporary isolation valve, allowing the downstream section of pipework to be depressurised, modified, or repaired without shutting down the wider system. Once the repair is complete, the ice plug is allowed to thaw and normal flow resumes.
Pipe failures in commercial buildings often require rapid isolation to limit water damage. Pipe freezing provides a fast isolation solution where conventional valves are absent, inaccessible, or non-functional.
